Anyone can make an appointment with us for gynaecology, obstetrics or fertility.
Please arrange for a General Practitioner or Specialist to send a valid referral to us via Healthlink or send to office@drdor.com.au.
The referral must be in PDF format or scanned PDF email (not an image from your phone).
When we receive the referral Dr O’Rourke will review and triage. Then, we will give you a call to schedule an appointment.
Valid Referral
If you want to claim a Medicare rebate, you must
have a valid referral.
Please note the following information regarding valid referrals:
- General Practitioner and Specialist referrals are valid for 2 years.
- Once the referral has been started in our office, the validity for General Practitioner referral is 12 months – the validity for a Specialist referrals is just 3 months.
- A new referral is needed for each new issue.
- A referral doesn’t necessarily need to be made out to Dr David O’Rourke, as long as the referral is intended for a doctor of the same specialty (eg. Obstetrician & Gynaecologist).
No Valid Referral
Without a valid referral you will not qualify for a
Medicare rebate and will have to pay the full fee out
of pocket.

Parking
Our practice is located at 13 Napier Close in
Deakin, just behind Calvary John James
Hospital. There is free onsite parking behind
the building. The rooms are located on the 1st
floor (with lift access available).
Fees
Fees are due at time of service unless arranged
otherwise. Please consult with our practice for
specific fees. Medicare rebates apply to most fees
and we gladly accept payment from all private
health funds.
